ICRT-Belize is a fully capable and prepared entity committed to rendering consultancy to hotels, resorts, home stays, houseboats, lodges, car rentals, tour operators, business houses and government departments. The process is such that ICRT-Belize will initiate a process which will help the organization to share an integral part in the definition of their Responsible Tourism Policy. We will cross check, verify and quantify the benefits and outcomes of various initiatives and guide the organizations as they evolve during the production of their Responsible Tourism Policy.

ICRT-Belize is developing an important tool to help tourists find sustainable destinations in Belize known as the “Belize RT-Index”. This is a database of like-minded responsible tourism businesses in Belize who have undergone some level of independent verification to ascertain that they are indeed adhering to responsible tourism standards and are being monitored on a regular basis to ensure compliance with established benchmarks.

The Belize RT-Index will reassure travelers that they are choosing responsible vacations and are indirectly contributing to environmental conservation and the social well-being of local residents in the places they visit within Belize.
